Thanks to some of you ladies for your help. I am 17 years old and I have naturally thick and curly hair. I cut my hair at a young age and stunted my growth, now that i take better care of my hair it is beginning to grow back but slower than i expected. I will try these prenatal vitamins orally to see if the growth of my hair will improve. Ladies this is NOT that serious.! Just leave your helpful comments and move on and again thanks for your useful information

So I’m reading a lot of these comments and it seems to me that both prenatal and biotin both works. Right now I’m starting with biotin (started yesterday) I’m going to take all 30 pills (a months worth) and see what miracles it can make. But if it doesn’t I will switch to prenatal pills.

    I think that sounds fair..

is prenatal and biotin can take man as well or it is just for woman only.

putting prenatal vitamins in your hair does work. However, it needs to be part of something you put in your hair everyday like a daily hair moisturizer or grease. I am sure putting it in your shampoo or conditioner is not hurting but I do not believe it will do much help. Maybe your deep conditioner. This will allow the vitamins to actuallly penetrate the hair shaft but I would not reccomend using heat. But apply vitamins topically daily is a great help. The same thing goes for your skin. To get clearer skin, you are not just given pills to take. You are primarily given creams that you topically apply. The pills are given as an added help. Your hair, nails and skin pretty much work hand and hand as far as the care that is needed. Taking prenatal vitamins is great, especially for people of childlbearing age. As far as prenatal vitamins cause water retention, that is not true. If anything it is the multivitamin that causes water retention. However, I would reccomend mixing a crushed prenatal vitamin into your daily routine hair products. Better yet, your deep conditoner. This will allow the vitamins time to really penetrate your hair, however would not reccomend any heat. Just time for your natural body heat to kick in. You could also mix it with some type of penetrating oil like coconut or olive. Apply to your hair, let it sit for awhile, then wash it out. Or mix the prenatal vitamins with water and put it in a spray bottle and mist your hair everyday with it before you put your daily hair products into your hair. Or buy a powder form multivitamin, so you don’t have to worry about crushing. Mix it with water and mist your hair everyday with it.

LISTEN UP! I’ve tried everything.. I can honestly say, Biotin has little effect on anything other than your hair.. Crushing up pills &putting them into your shampoo had no real results.. The best thing I’ve ever used was MAXI-HAIR by Country Life. No joke, within TWO WEEKS of taking these, my nails were thicker & longer, my hair was growing substantially, I kid you not, my hair went from shoulder length to my lower back withing 5-6 months. I recommend it to all of my friends.. I promise you, any other remedy or old-wives tale is a waste of time & money. I found Maxi-Hair at a health food store, but you can get them for like $10-$18 online depending on where you buy it.

Okay I’ve read all the comments and I’ve also decided to take biotin. I was considering crushing it in my shampoo and taking them by mouth ? Is that a good idea? Im also a little concerned about water weight , should I be ?

I was told by my gynecologist to take pre natal vitamins after a miscarriage or well ur trying to get pregnant. I have been taking prenatal vitamins for a little over a year due to two miscarriages and a low iron problem. Prenatal vitamins due help with nail and hair growth when taking them orally. Also a lot of gynecologists recommend taking prenatal vitamins for women who are not pregnant and r considering having a healthy pregnancy later on. As this helps a women have a healthy pregnancy. I have also lost weight well taking my prenatal vitamins.
