prenatal pills are better off to be taken, if wanting to know if its ok to take prenatal pills even if not pregnant consult your doctor. My bestfriend handed me a bottle of prenatal pills and i crushed them to put into my shampoo but i didnt get much results, once taking prenatal pills my hair grew about 2 inches a month! but make sure you eat healthy. Hope you get the results your looking for by taking prenatal pills if you want your hair to get longer(:
@lovve:
Which Pre-Natal pills did you take? I am not pregnant but my hair simply does not grow haha. My hairdresser also just completely messed up my “trim”! I have heard of using Biotin, but was intrigued by your comment and am curious as to which prenatal pills you tried!
Thanks!
@Rebecca:
i just buy the drug store brand and Biotin is great for hair growth i have thick hair and i started with a short bob cut just below my ears and now (with occasional trims) my hair is down a little past my shoulders and i got it cut about thanksgiving…
Hi, I am an hair stylist and if you are not trying to get pregnant I recommend that you should crush the prenatal vitamins in your shampoo. or for healthy nails, you could also crush the vitamins in water and soak your nails in them. Do not take them by mouth only to grow your hair/nails because it will only make you gain water weight that will be hard to lose! It will also boost your appetite and make you very fertile. So do not intake by mouth unless your trying to have a baby… Prenatal pills in shampoo DOES, in fact, work!! AND DRINK LOTS OF WATER!
@Keisha:
sorry, but i don’t think you know what you are talking about. How is washing your hair with a crushed up pill going to do anything? It’s not going through your bloodstream or giving your body anything to help stimulate hair growth. Applying it to your hair for a minute isn’t going to do jack. Also, water weight is very easy to lose. You just pee it out…duh? And you take these pills when you are pregnant to provide nutrients and vitamins to the baby…you don’t take them when you are trying to become pregnant. So if you orally ingest these vitamins, it isn’t dangerous. You have to ingest them to get the actual affects of it, like hair growth or whatever. Good day.
OMG – No prenatal pills DO NOT make you more fertile, they do not cause you to retain water and they do not boost your appetite. They’re vitamins! That’s it! Plain and simple. You’re a hair dresser not a nutritionist. I have a degree in nursing and have a clue about what I’m talking about. Prenatal vitamins in your shampoo put onto your hair is a waste of money. You’re going to rinse it all off and your money will go down the drain. You need to take the vitamin because the part of the hair that grows is under your scalp not what you can actually see. The hair that you can see is already dead and therefore vitamins in your shampoo is useless.
@Melissa: THAT IS INFORMATION THAT I GOT FROM A DOCTOR! No one said that I was an Nutritionist! Now the crushed prenatal pills in shampoo DOES INDEED WORK!! I’ve used it myself and know alot of other people to use it and SWEAR by it! Now I dont know what community college you got your “Degree” from! But They do make you gain water weight! It is NOT a waste of money! Now don’t go thinking that you know what you are talking about if you havent tried it yourself!
-Thanks!
I’m taking prenatal vitamins to have a healthy baby in the future. I’m not pregnant but me and my husband are trying to get pregnant…and i have a question im taking a prenatal right now and after i took them i feel vomiting after them…why is that could i be pregnant already or i should change mitamins?
Dear Zina, is a good idea to take prenatal vitamins before you get pregnant, this way your body is going to be ready for the baby. Prenatal vitamins have a higher content of Iron which can make your stomach upset, nausea and vomiting until your body gets used to the minerals. To avoid this problem try to take your vitamins with a glass of orange juice and after eating at least a piece of bread or a few crackers. I hope this help you. Take care.
@zina: if you’re only getting sick or feeling sick after you take the vitamin it could be from not taking it with food and/ or milk… i know i’m not a dr. and i’m really not tryin to seem like i know everything, i just thought i would give you my opinion cause i’ve had alot of experience with prenatals and i learned really quick that the doctor wasn’t joking when he said “take them with food and/ or milk or there’s a good chance they will upset your stomache”. good luck with trying to conceive.
OMG ! I have beeen reading all these post and how immature is this !! All people want is advice not people going at it back and fourth about who is right and who is wrong ! grow up
The reason they are called prenatal vitamins is because these are the vitamins the fetus usually drains from the mother during pregnancy or woman lack while trying to conceive, its helps to provide energy and nutrition to the fetus. A healthy mother equals healthy baby. Vitamins are good for anyone pregnant or not, and if you took each vitamin separately you would have the same result if you took them all combined into one pill. Don’t rely on taking vitamins to simply grow your hair or nails, having a balanced diet and efficient amount of water intake will also play a role. everyone is different so everyone will have a different outcome.
Just remember take with moderation and to much of certain vitamins can become harmful to your health.
I’ve heard from many friends that crushed prenatal pills in your shampoo does work. So I am going to try it. I’ll keep you guys posted, & btw its not that expensive! $4.00 @ wal-mart for 100 capsules!I just crushed half the bottle into my shampoo. well I’m hoping for great results!
I have been taking pre-natal vitamins and I have not had any weight gain nor am I retaining any additonal water. My hair is growing a lot quicker than normal and also thicker. I plan on taking them for the next 6 months. I am not trying to get pregnant and I do have a little more energy. I have been taking them for the past 2 months. No side effects at all.
@Jasmine: Hey, i have just began takin prenatal viatmines myself and i dont know if these will have a great affect on my hair, though im hoping. You were saying that you hair had grown alot faster, and i was wondering how fast? Perhaps how many inches a month? And the by the way, what was the brand of the prenatal vitamines youre taking?
I have need loosing my hair for the past couple of months. I noticed that my hair started to fall out when I stopped taking my Birth Control. I’m worried because I am 20 years old, and I am losing my hair. I bought prenatal vitamins today. Before my hair loss I had thick hair. Do you think my hair will grow back?
@Katy: hair mayonase works great for hair growth and thickening. you apply as often as needed and you can leave it in all day. my hair grew back in 2 months after a salon misshap.it works and its like $4
I AM NOT A DR. so people dont freak on me. but i think your hair will grow back. Its probably just the change in hormones thats causing that. just dont stress because that will worsen it. prenatal vitamins should really help. Drink a lot of water, just relax, everything will be ok. Stupid birth controls lol gave me a lot of water weight when I was younger and acne. but I stopped taking em and I’m back to my skinny & perfect clear complexion xD. I’m quite sure its just the change in hormones and a withdraw effect. I’m sure itll be ok but still I wish you the BEST of luck I truly do. Either ways I know youre beautiful. x)
those it help your hormones or help you maybe get pregnant
